It's nearly spring, and the Gold Coast comes alive. We start to hear the ice cream trucks more regularly, the smell of the ol' BBQ, the smell of coconuts and sunscreen and the laughs and splashes of kids in their swimming pools.

"There were 291 drowning deaths in aquatic locations across Australia between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017. This year's figure is an increase of 9 drowning deaths (or 3%) on the 282 drowning deaths recorded in 2015/16. It also represents an increase of 10 deaths (or 4%) on the 10 year average of 281 drowning deaths."
Please remember, whilst your pool might be sparkling and inviting... Please shut the gate, and learn to resuscitate.
