Swimming pools are designed to have the skimmer box opening at a particular level, to ensure correct skimming of the water surface. This eradicates floating debris and dust from the pool's water surface. Water level plays an important part in order for the skimming process to be efficient. Ideally the water level should be at least 2/3rd up the skimmer opening.
